Charter Resolution 2005-CR-3 introduced by the Mayor and Council of 
the Town of Riverdale Park at the 
Special Legislative Session of 
November 28, 2005
An Amendment to Section 510 of the Charter of the Town of Riverdale Park
 
Whereas, Article V of the Charter only addresses the question of a Runoff Election in connection with the biennial general election of the Mayor and Council,
and, Whereas, a special election may also require a runoff election, 
Therefore, be it resolved to amend Section 510, Special Elections, by adding the following language: (Added language is shown in italics)
 
§510: Special Elections
 
All special town elections shall be conducted by the council in the same manner and with the same personnel, as far as practicable, as set forth in § 508 of this charter. If the results of a special election require the town to hold a runoff election, the runoff election shall be held in accordance with the procedures of § 511 with the following exception: the council shall schedule the runoff election to be held no earlier than the twenty-first day, nor later than the thirtieth day following the date of the special election.
