Purple Line Project Update

On October 8, 2015, Prince George's County hosted a presentation by the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) on recent cost-saving measures for the Purple Line project. You will find materials presented at the meeting

The Purple Line Coalition and the National Institute for Smart Growth will be a partner and serve on the Steering Advisory Committee of the East Riverdale and Beacon Heights sector plan. The Purple Line Coalition is in the process of refining a draft Purple Line Community Compact that will articulate a collective vision for vibrant economic and community development along the entire 16-mile Purple Line project corridor, strategies to achieve that vision and a commitment by a variety of project stakeholders. It represents an opportunity to leverage the Purple Line investment to achieve benefits throughout the communities along its route, including:

*	Revitalizing and stabilizing neighborhoods
*	Supporting small businesses
*	Connecting workers with jobs
*	Creating healthy and vibrant communities
