PGCPS Community Meetings: Understanding the FY2017 Educational Facilities
Master Plan

Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS) invites students, families,
and community members to attend one of three community meetings to learn
more about the FY2017 Educational Facilities Master Plan (EFMP). The EFMP is
used to develop the annual and six-year Capital Improvement Plans (CIP). The
April 27 Northern Planning Area meeting will include information on new
middle school construction.

The PGCPS Department of Capital Programs will host the meetings.
Representatives will review the school-by-school schedule for renovating and
replacing more than 133 schools; constructing new schools; reorganizing
sixth grade to middle schools; boundary changes; and planning studies to
consider consolidations and other programs. The Prince George’s County Board
of Education is scheduled to vote on the FY2017 EFMP on May 12.

Interpreting services for Spanish-speaking families will be provided at the
Northwestern and Oxon Hill meetings.

Reuniones comunitarias de las PGCPS: Explicación del plan maestro de las
instalaciones educativas para el año fiscal 2017

Las Escuelas Públicas del Condado de Prince George (PGCPS) invitan a
estudiantes, familias, y miembros de la comunidad a asistir a una de tres
reuniones comunitarias para aprender más sobre el Plan Maestro de las
Instalaciones Educativas para el Año Fiscal 2017 [EFMP por sus siglas en
inglés]. El EFMP se usa para elaborar los Planes de Mejora de Capital
anuales y a seis años [CIP por sus siglas en inglés]. La reunión del 27 de
abril sobre la Planeación en el Área Norte incluirá información sobre la
construcción de la nueva escuela intermedia. 

El Departamento de Programas de Capital de las PGCPS organizará las
reuniones. Los representantes del Departamento presentarán programas
individualizados para cada escuela de renovación y reemplazo de más de 133
escuelas; la construcción de nuevas escuelas; la incorporación del grado 6 a
las escuelas intermedias; cambios a los límites de ciertas áreas escolares;
el planeamiento de estudios para considerar consolidaciones; y otros
programas. La Junta de Educación del Condado de Prince George tiene
programado votar sobre el EFMP del año fiscal 2017 el 12 de Mayo.

Se ofrecerá interpretación para familias hispanohablantes en las reuniones
