1. 5K Race - 9:30AM
2. Halloween Costume Contest for Kids & Entertainment by Mandy the Clown - 11AM
3. Halloween Parade - 12:30PM

All happening at Joe's Movement Emporium (3309 Bunker Hill Rd, Mount Rainier, MD 20712)

9:30AM - Dress up and race, walk, or stroll with your neighbors in the Annual Mount Rainier / Gateway 5K Race!

11:00AM - Dress up your family in their Halloween finest and bring them for the second annual Family Halloween Parade and Kids' Costume Contest! This year, we will have a Stilt Walker Mandy the Clown marching in the parade with us and she will also be entertaining the kids with her act including JUGGLING, UNICYCLE, MUSIC, & MORE!!

Categories in the COSTUME CONTEST include:
Most Colorful
Most Scary
Best Fictional Character
Best Princess
Best Superhero
Best Dressed Stroller (my favorite from last year was the Star Wars inspired X-Wing fighter)
Best Family Costume (very popular!)
*Extra points for homemade elements.

This is a casual and informal "contest" geared towards kids 10 and under in which each contest participant will get something (e.g. candy or crayons).
Category winners will receive a prize certificate and a book of their choice from the Book Table.
Judges will be city staff members.

The Halloween Parade and Costume Contest was born last year from the requests of parents of younger kids in the city who wanted a family fun and safe activity in the daylight hours for their kids to show off costumes and literally parade around! Last year it was awesome, come make it even better this year!

-Small registration fee for 5K race.
-Parade and Costume Contest are both FREE events.
