FOOD ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS
Notice of funding opportunity for nonprofit organizations with programs and projects related to community food assistance. Grant awards range up to $50,000. Application opens on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, and closes Friday, March 16, 2022, and can be found at www.riverdaleparkmd.gov<http://www.riverdaleparkmd.gov>.

Eligibility
The nonprofit grant program is designed to support organizations, programs, and activities that benefit Town of Riverdale Park residents and businesses. Organizations eligible to apply include nonprofits that are corporations, associations, agencies, or faith-based organizations with a 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(6) nonprofit status under the Internal Revenue Service Code. For-profit entities and individuals are not eligible.

Eligible organizations shall meet the requirements below:
* Serve Town of Riverdale Park residents
* Be in good standing with the State of Maryland
* Provide proof of insurance prior to the receipt of any funding

Application Scoring Criteria
The review committee will review and score each application individually for completeness and strength of application. Depending on the number of applications and available funds, applications may be scored against other applications. The Town reserves the right to award or deny award of any application.  Applications will be scored, at minimum, on the following criteria.

  *   Feasibility of proposal
  *   Extent to which grant will help address food insecurity and help implement innovative solutions to address COVID-19-related challenges
  *   Experience administering food assistance programs
  *   Ability to begin immediately

Eligible purchases include, but are not limited to:

  *   Non-perishable food items
  *   Packaged, unexpired foods
  *   Clean, fresh produce
  *   Supplies for distribution
  *   Personal hygiene items
  *   Infant formula and food
  *   Diapers
