[RP Town Announce] Prince George's County Juvenile Curfew in effect TONIGHT (9/9) at 11:59 p.m.

Juvenile Curfew

Prince George's County is enforcing a 30-day curfew for youth ages 16 and under beginning September 9 at 11:59 p.m. This measure is being put in place to protect our children and engage parents and family members in their safety and wellbeing as we continue to see a rise in violent crime, especially among juveniles. Youth need to be at home on weeknights from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., and weekends from 11:59 p.m. to 5 a.m. Police officers will focus on education first, educating youth on the curfew and telling them to go home. Some exceptions to the curfew apply, such as youth accompanied by a parent/guardian or youth that are at a place of employment. We are asking our village to please help us keep our children safe.

El Condado de Prince George está imponiendo un toque de queda de 30 días para jóvenes de 16 años y menores a partir del 9 de septiembre a las 11:59pm. Esta medida se está implementando para proteger a nuestros niños e involucrar a los padres y miembros de la familia en su seguridad y bienestar a medida que continuamos viendo un aumento en los delitos violentos, especialmente entre los menores. Los jóvenes deben estar en casa entre semana de 10pm a 5am y los fines de semana de 11:59pm a 5am. Los oficiales de policía se enfocarán primero en la educación, educando a los jóvenes sobre el toque de queda y diciéndoles que se vayan a casa. Se aplican algunas excepciones al toque de queda, como jóvenes acompañados por un padre/tutor o jóvenes que se encuentran en un lugar de trabajo. Estamos pidiendo a nuestra comunidad que nos ayude a mantener a nuestros niños seguros.
