[RP Town Announce] Town Election: Reminders and Deadlines

Town Election Reminders:


o   Voting will take place on Monday, May 1, 2023, at Riverdale Park Town Hall (5008 Queensbury Road). Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.



o   Residents may also vote by mail (or Ballot Drop Box) by requesting an Absentee (Mail-in) Ballot. Absentee (mail-in) ballot applications are available HERE<https://files4.1.revize.com/riverdalemd/2023%20Absentee.%20Mail-in%20Ballot.%20Application%20Combined.pdf>, by email request to TownElection at riverdaleparkmd.gov<mailto:TownElection at riverdaleparkmd.gov>, or by calling 301-927-6381 (ext. 505). Absentee (Mail-in) ballot applications must be received by Friday, April 21, 2023.



o   Candidate Filing Deadline Approaching: Candidates for office must file a Petition for Elective Office and a Financial Disclosure Statement with the Board of Elections no later than 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 6, 2023, to have their names placed on the official ballot. Petitions for Elective Office and Financial Disclosure Statements are available HERE<https://files4.1.revize.com/riverdalemd/3.10.2023%20Complete%20Candidate%20Packet.pdf>, by e-mail request to TownElection at riverdaleparkmd.gov<mailto:TownElection at riverdaleparkmd.gov>, or by calling 301-927- 6381 (ext. 505). There is a $25.00 filing fee for all candidates.



o   All residents sixteen years of age or older, who have resided in the Town of Riverdale Park for 45 days or more preceding Monday, May 1, 2023 (March 17, 2023, to April 30, 2023), will be entitled to vote. More information regarding how to register to vote is available HERE<https://www.riverdaleparkmd.gov/government/elections/2023_election/register_to_vote.php>. Same day voter registration will also be available on Election Day, Monday, May 1, 2023.



o   If you are unsure of what ward you reside in, the 2023 Ward Boundary Map is available HERE<https://files4.1.revize.com/riverdalemd/2023%20Ward%20Boundary%20Map.pdf>.



o   Election materials are also available 24 hours a day and 7 days a week at Town Hall in the document holder near the front door.



o   If you moved recently, be sure to update your voter registration with the Prince George's County Board of Elections (County/State voters) 301-341-7300 or the Town Clerk (TRP Supplemental Voter Registry voters) 301-927-6381, extension 505.
