[RP Town Announce] Town Election: May 1, 2023 - Important Dates

Town of Riverdale Park ELECTION NOTICE

In compliance with the Charter of the Town of Riverdale Park, Maryland, an election will be held on Monday, May 1, 2023, to elect the Mayor and Council.

Voting will take place on Monday, May 1, 2023, at Riverdale Park Town Hall (5008 Queensbury Road) Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Residents may also vote by mail (or Ballot Drop Box) by requesting an Absentee (Mail-in) Ballot. Absentee (mail-in) ballot applications are available HERE<https://files4.1.revize.com/riverdalemd/2023%20Absentee.%20Mail-in%20Ballot.%20Application%20Combined.pdf>, by e-mail request to TownElection at riverdaleparkmd.gov<mailto:TownElection at riverdaleparkmd.gov>, or by calling 301-927-6381 (ext. 505). Absentee (Mail-in) ballot applications must be received by Friday, April 21, 2023.

Candidates for office must file a Petition for Elective Office and a Financial Disclosure Statement with the Board of Elections no later than 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 6, 2023, to have their names placed on the official ballot. Petitions for Elective Office and Financial Disclosure Statements are available HERE<https://files4.1.revize.com/riverdalemd/3.10.2023%20Complete%20Candidate%20Packet.pdf>, by e-mail request to TownElection at riverdaleparkmd.gov<mailto:TownElection at riverdaleparkmd.gov> or by calling 301-927- 6381 (ext. 505). There is a $25.00 filing fee for all candidates.

All residents sixteen years of age or older, who have resided in the Town of Riverdale Park for 45 days or more preceding Monday, May 1, 2023 (March 17, 2023, to April 30, 2023), will be entitled to vote.
More information regarding how to register to vote is available HERE<https://www.riverdaleparkmd.gov/government/elections/2023_election/register_to_vote.php>. Same day voter registration will also be available on Election Day, Monday, May 1, 2023.

**Election materials are also available 24/7 at Town Hall in the document holder near the front door.**
