[RP TownTalk] TownTalk Digest, Vol 9, Issue 10

we would definitely support a food coop, although we currently shop a
lot at GLUT.
personally, we both like GLUT better (products, people, atmosphere)
than the TPSS Coop that we used to use when we, also, lived in Takoma
and could walk to the coop.
if GLUT is interested in helping to open a satellite venue, maybe we
could have a riverdale park GLUT, maybe call it GLUTTONY.
one idea that comes to mind: currently the old credit union is vacant.
perhaps Pete S. would be willing to have a coop rent the space, and
then when other development happens at that site (if and when) the coop
could become a stakeholder and existing tenant for whatever retail
space that development creates. in my view, it would be in Pete and
Sons interest to rent the building, be seen as helping start additional
town business opportunities, and a new Coop partnered both with other
local COOP's and Dumm's corner shops it could be designed to augment
those businesses and not step on their toes.
a question: what is the buyer's group people are talking about?
best,
marc stauffer
