The state is starting to think about changing the MD 410 / Rt 1  
intersection.

University Park Town Councilwoman Margaret Mallino (Ward 1) said it is  
important for Riverdale Park and University Park to lobby for a better  
functioning intersection to curb cut-through traffic in both towns.

‘‘That intersection [Route 1 and Route 410] has failed, and it’s been  
in failure for years,” Mallino said. ‘‘It has an adverse affect on all  
of us in University Park and Riverdale Park ... That intersection means  
[traffic] will always spill into your community.”
