Hi Lou

Yeah, its a moon thing all right. Some feel this is cock fighting. I still think its voodoo (also known as Vodun and Vodou).

The DCBs were all cast down during a waning moon crescent (a bit before the moon goes dark).

A waning moon is important to voodoo.

At "The Heart Of Darkness" website http://theheartofdarknesss.tripod.com/id59.html
It talks about spell casting and the moon's phases ...
"The Moon's phase, days of the week, and planetary influences all have a role in spell weaving, and that a waning moon is a time to cast spells to Destroy, or about Ending, diminishing, and inward changes."

It also talks about candles and color. In the bag were small round colorful drops, they may have been wax balls.

>From http://www.fortunecity.com/greenfield/tigris/567/id38.htm ...
"During the waning Moon, power subsides and turns inward. The waning Moon's period is used for banishings, bindings, and discovering hidden secrets. The practical witch soon learns to adjust her spells to fit the time of
the Moon.... when the Moon is Waning (from Full to Dark), it is time for magickal workings of decrease or sending away."

>From http://www.themystica.com/mystica/articles/c/crossroad.html
"Since classical times the crossroad has been a favored place for Witches to gather because of its link to Nature spirits and the moon goddess. "

>From http://www.assatashakur.org/forum/showthread.php?t=5502 under Vodou Medicine is says...
"In particularly difficult cases, a live animal (commonly a chicken) is used for this process by fanning it over the patients’ body as if to sweep up the illness or negativity. This is called pase poul (literally, “to pass the chicken”), and is a form of substitution whereby the illness is transferred to another live host. Once the negative energies are “swept up” by the animal, it is generally killed, "

Spooky. Huh?

Maybe this voodoo witch is casting a spell to get rid of the pot holes in the railroad crossing. (grin).

Always an optimist...
Rob
