[RP TownTalk] Train Cafe Idea

I love the idea of the train cafe, and agree that we can make something of our 'asset'.
Of course, we would need someone to set up a model train set, one that kids could play with and adults would enjoy, too..... I may not be using the right term, but I mean one of those big things on a table with fake green mountains and tunnells...and whistling toy trains. doesn't that sound like fun? And also a 'Thomas' station for the little kids. I've got leftover Thomas stuff that I think we could donate....

I didn't make it to the meeting last night, but I thought I would observe
that -- according to the calculator at http://www.westegg.com/inflation/
-- "What cost $200 in 1995 would cost $248.83 in 2005," and "What cost
$400 in 1995 would cost $497.67 in 2005."
So, this would be quite a raise, not simply a Cost of Living adjustment.
Which seems fine to me, I suppose. I heard said that our county council
people are making like $80K a year or something?

First I get bombarded by political speech after 11 o'clock at the
council working session and now what I consider spam on "towntalk".
Must be an election season. @#$%!

I am sorry for the inconvenience. Once in a blue moon I share events I am
participating in with the Riverdale residents; like the tickets to the
Nationals game I announced yesterday. The event you responded to just
happens to be a political activity. But I can appreciate your
dissatisfaction. No offense was intended.

I agree that a cafe of some sort in the town center
would be great; maybe one with a train theme? I mean,
we have a regular crew of train spotters, not to
mention people that bring their kids to watch the
trains go by, especially in warmer weather. Instead
of considering the trains as a nuisance, we really
should try to capitalize on them as being part of the
town. Maybe a cafe called the "Railroad Station," or
something? Waiters/waitresses w/ train caps? At any
rate a reasonably priced, family friendly cafe would
be most welcome.
