If you have certain old junk to get rid of---this is a
FABULOUS opportunity! No fee, no limit on how many:
The University of Maryland and the City of College Park, in conjunction with
Apple, are hosting a computer recycling event to give faculty, staff,
students, and local residents the opportunity
to properly dispose of their unwanted computer
equipment (see a list of what's acceptable and what's unacceptable below).
The equipment will be disposed of in a secure fashion: all hard drives will
be shredded and other materials will be recycled. Volunteers will be on site
to unload your vehicle. There is no cost for this
service, and no limit to the amount of approved items you can dropoff.
Please note: University-owned computers must be processed through the
university's asset management process and cannot be recycled at this event.
When: Friday, September 29 -- 3-6 p.m.
Saturday, September 30 -- 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
Where: Parking Lot 4i (on Paint Branch Road across
from the Comcast
Center. Follow the signs!)
