Town Talkers,

For those interested, the agenda for this week's Mixed Use Town Center
Zoning Design Review Committee is:

April 4, 7:30 p.m. – Jey's Auto – Revised site plan showing gas
stations with 3-bay service area and convenience store. Location is
the existing service station (formerly called Jey's Auto) across from
DeMatha HS on Route 1.

The application is for a gas station and convenience store. The gas
station use would require a special exception permit from the county.
The present proposal basically updates the existing building and adds
new gas pumps to replace the non-operational ones presently on site.
The zoning for the area calls for a signature / gateway mixed use
building, so this would be a departure from the zoning and would need
a special exception permit from the county.

There is also a possibility that the MUTC meeting on the 4th will
include a briefing from the owners of the Cafritz property regarding
development plans for the wooded site north of Tuckerman bordering
College Park. I'll confirm to the list if that is definitely on tap
for this week. The property is a large parcel, which could include
completion of the bike path, assuming all the permissions with
property owners can be worked out. The town has initiated a title
search to facilitate that.
