[RP TownTalk] Looking for Advice

As Carol points out, she abuts a parking lot – that makes a big difference. Most of the homes in University Park aren’t located next to anything but other houses.

Well, actually I have called the police on people before, mostly homeless types that were camped out by my fence. My situation is different a bit because it is a parking lot where people often stop to eat lunch, dinner or whatever other activity they choose to. I used to complain to the town, police and jemal's managers all the time Bruce. I even thought about installing a sprinkler that i could control from my house to get them back when they do it to my fence, but that would not be nice.

And in speaking to my friends that live in University Park, they don't have a problem, because their neighborhood is all but closed off to public traffic.

Riverdale has main roads running through the very heart of it, bringing many different people through.

Carol

People don't urinate in public in Calvert Hills or University Park. The reason they don't is contained in your email below. They don't make excuses for it. They raise holy hell until something is done about it. We don't do that in Riverdale. We don't do anything, but make jokes about the most crass and unacceptable behavior imaginable. Pretty soon the youngsters will catch on an they will be peeing in the streets. What fun!

Frankly, all of this is pathetic. I've got to get out of here.

Bruce

The problem is that by the time the police could get here, the person is done going to the bathroom and gone. I have brought it up to the building manager as well, and they also say that there is a problem catching them.

It is a shame, but sadly this happens.

I don't agree. There is something which can be done about it. Call your council person and demand that the police arrest and prosecute these people. If they don't do anything, elect someone else. There are laws on the books against this sort of thing. There's absolutely no excuse for it.

You could also call Jemal and let him know. Then give him the number of your council person and the mayor.

That kind of behavior happens CONSTANLY near my house in the Jamal building parking lot. I have no problem yelling out a window or a door and asking them would they like it if someone urinated on their fence. I wish there was something more that could be done but I don't think there is.

Hi folks,

I work from my home office and today I heard some loud music and looked out the window and there was a car parked in front of my house. A guy got out, walked to the rear of his car, opened the trunk, then pulled down his zipper and proceeded to urinate right in the street in front of my house. Didn't even flinch when the dogs barked! Not having my shoes on...I quickly found them and got them tied ....to go out and tell this guy his behavior was unacceptable. Unfortunately he pulled away before I could get out there to demand he clean up his mess. I am asking the list for the best way to handle this kind of situation. We are so close to fast food chains with bathrooms, I can't understaned why one would have to use the street. Any comments or suggestions? Audrey
