This is the time of year when young birds are fledging.  This is the reason folks are finding them in their yards.  When the parents call, it is to encourage the youngsters to fly.  Putting them back in the next won't help because they will be right back out for flight lessons.  The best think you can do for the young ones is to keep your cats in the house for the next few weeks.
