Whoaaa. Lets pause here for a moment.  
   
  A lot of this information is incorrect.
   
  Chapter 55-Rental Licensing & Inspections covers Single Family Homes, Single Family Dwellings.  The license application fee is $200 (Code book may need to be updated, it still reads $100). Currently we have a approximately 50 Single Family Rentals.
   
  Apartments/Multi-family Dwellings are exempt from Chapter 55, as it does not pertain to Apartment dwellings.  However, Chapter 56 deals specifically as indicated by it's title-Multifamily Rental Licensing & Inspections.  Chapter 56 states not only how often Multi-family dwellings are inspected, but the fees per Unit. You may find this information under Chapter 56-5 (b).  The fee per unit is $75 per year.  We have approximately 900 units.
   
  Raising the licensing fee is not an avenue that we should be travelling right now.  As our apartment dwellers and working class families are seeing an increase not only in gas and electric but also in the rent.  A one bedroom apartment per month ranges from $925-$995.  This is not including utilities.  Raising the fees, which would raise the rent will result in a influx of more occupants per apartment.  A problem that is minimal now. Check last years revenue if anyone thinks apartment dwellers are exempt from fees.
