Also not all donations to tax-exempt orgs are necessarily tax-deductible.
Some police and fireman orgs (also political or advocacy groups) are
perfectly legitimate groups and your donation will support their work but
your donation to them will not be tax deductible.  So, if that is important
to you, you should ask.
