[RP TownTalk] Is the Fire Department really using the town attorney?

One thing I noticed in the news articles -- this report

says the following:

   Chief Harrison said he could not make further comment on the advice
   of Riverdale's attorney.

Since the firehouse is an independent organization, entirely separate
from the town government, why would they be given access to the town
attorney?

I hope this report is incorrect.
