The easiest way to UNsubscribe is to send an email to
towntalk-request at riverdale-park.org
with the subject line of "unsubscribe" (w/o the quotes).
Be sure to send it from the same email account that
receives TownTalk.
An easy way to do this with most email programs is
to hit REPLY to a TownTalk message, then change
the TO line to towntalk-request at riverdale-park.org
and change the SUBJECT line to unsubscribe.
Sorry to see you go. :-(
Instead of UNsubscribing, you might consider using Digest
mode to reduce the number of emails you receive.
How to Switch to Digest mode
The default is to receive each TownTalk message individually.
Which I find best, but some people prefer the Digest mode.
In Digest mode the emails are saved up and sent to you as
one longer email. So you receive one email every few days
which contains all the emails sent since the last digest.
If you use Digest mode, I strongly recommend using the
MIME format. With the MIME format, you will see all the
messages (including the ones missed by the plain text digest,
such as "An HTML attachment was scrubbed") and you will
see things like tables, bold, italics and attachments.
Follow these steps to receive the Digest mode in MIME format:
1) Go to
http://riverdale-park.org/mailman/options/towntalk
2) It will ask you to enter your TownTalk email address
and/or password. Do so and click Login. (If you don't
know your password, then click on the "Remind" button
at the bottom of the page to be sent a password reminder.)
3) A page entitled "TownTalk mailing list membership configuration"
will display.
4) Scroll down to the 2nd option entitled "Set Digest Mode"
On the right side, click the circle next to the word "On".
5) Scroll down to the next option entitled:
"Get MIME or Plain Text Digests?"
On the right side, click the circle next to the word "MIME".
6) Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the
"Submit My Changes" button. (The page will refresh).
7) Optionally, click the "Log out" button in the upper
right corner, or just close your browser.
