A friend of mine is looking for 8 and 9 year olds to test out some
education-focused collaborative software he has developed in his doctoral
research. The details are below:
*Study: Collaborative Stories*
Have you ever wondered what good could come of a child having a cell phone
or a PDA? Can mobile devices be educational? How can mobile devices
support face-to-face interactions and collaboration? Please help us explore
answers to these questions.
We are looking for children ages 8-9 to participate in a study using mobile
and/or desktop computers to collaboratively read and add to a story.
Children will be paired with another child their same age. Same-aged
children/friends are invited to come and participate together in the study.
The study will take place in the Hornbake Building, on the University of
Maryland at College Park Campus (http://tinyurl.com/4jp88v).
Upon completing the study, participants will receive a small gift.
Please contact Jerry Fails (fails at cs.umd.edu or 301-887-1332), if you have
questions or to schedule a time to participate. You can begin scheduling a
time at: http://tinyurl.com/4kkpsu.
Sincerely,
Barrett Kirwan
