The local police should do something like this around here and send a clear message that a pedestrian's life does matter!

On the other hand, if police does enforce the law for motor vehicle to respect pedestrian crosswalk laws, then it should go both ways and pedestrians should USE the crosswalks. Enforcement might be required as well...
