   MANAGING EDITOR

   The Hyattsville Life & Times, a monthly non-profit community newspaper,
   seeks applicants for the position of managing editor.

   Duties for the position include performing or assisting the
   editor-in-chief with the following: Create and maintain a running log of
   story ideas monthly; assign stories to writers and provide weekly story
   status; assign art to photographer; facilitate monthly writer’s
   meetings; complete first edit on all stories and a final copy edit of
   proof; compile briefs; write column/articles; network with production
   and printer teams.

   The flexible, part-time position requires approximately 25 hours per
   month of work primarily from the incumbent's home or office and offers a
   monthly stipend. Some journalism experience required. Editing experience
   preferred.
