[RP TownTalk] purple line hearing info to pre-register to testify

Dear neighbors,

I want to forward the following information to you regarding the Purple Line
hearings that are happening over the next couple of weeks.  If you would
like to personally testify there is information below that will tell you how
to sign up.

The town will be taking an official position this evening at the Legislative
Session.  The basic outline of our position that I expect the council to
pass advocates: 1) light-rail over the bus; 2) stations be positioned to
best serve our residents as opposed to those commuting into Riverdale Park
to work;  and 3) layout along Kenilworth Avenue that least interrupts
automobile and pedestrian traffic.

expected the lightest turnout.

Dear Friends of the Purple Line:


I am writing to confirm that you will be able to speak at the upcoming
SATURDAY November 15th New Carrollton hearing on the Purple Line and to* see
if you will be able to preregister by calling MTA on Monday, November
3rd*(TOMORROW).  We hope to have a great show of support for the
Purple Line.
Please feel free to share this e-mail with friends and neighbors who might
be able to join us on the 15th.

   - We want you to be one of only 30 members of the public per hearing who
   will be allowed to pre-register to testify.  To preregister, we recommend
   you call 866-842-9283 around 11 AM on Monday, November 3rd.   You may
   call earlier, but we expect the line to be very busy between 9 and 11, so
   you may have to try more than once, until you reach the operator.


   - Each pre-registrant must contact the MTA independently; one person will
   not be able to sign-up more than one person at a time.


   - If you are not able to sign up in advance, we hope you will still plan
   on testifying by arriving early to sign up with MTA at the door.
