In the past, trick-or-treating has started at 6 pm and is over by 9
pm. The younger kids are out earlier, the older kids (and the
drive-bys (as I call the people who drive their kids into the
neighborhood)) are out later.

If you want trick-or-treaters, turn on your porch light!

If you don't - you'll need your house to look completely dark from the outside.
