Melissa, in addition to the info in the Town Crier, you can find the makeup of each committee on the Wiki:
http://rpwiki.wetpaint.com/page/Town+Government

You may also note that the committee page points you to the Wiki calendar for schedule of monthly meetings.  The calendar is one thing that has fallen by the way side. It took quite a bit of time to maintain and since no one has asked or complained since I stopped updating it, I can only assume no one was utilizing it.

Town Announce will keep you up to date on the meeting schedule and agendas.

I just wanted to say that I am very excited to see a mural under 410.  I walk past that area often and always thought some color would be helpful.  In the last year, we've also had significantly more graffiti in this area, so I think some art work will hopefully prevent future vandalism.

As for the purple line, there seems to be a a lot of confusion about the proposed alignments.  The mayor is correct that the there is still much work to be done even after the Governor decides the preferred alignment.  There will be more meetings in the future especially as MTA and the community work to figure out the best possible alignment to move the purple line thru the Kenilworth Avenue/410 intersection.  As Kate suggested there are three possible options on the table, one of which still needs further study.  I hope those who have questions or concerns about the purple line participate in future meetings.  Unlike any other community of our size along the purple line route, Riverdale Park will have two purple line stops.  I am personally excited about the opportunities the purple line will bring to the community as well as the environmental benefits the project will yield, but like any project of this scale there will be changes and challenges
to address.  On a side note, you are welcome to contact me, if you need more details on the purple line or have process questions, but it is best to contact me at work dmglaros at co.pg.md.us or 301-952-3060.  I spend a lot of time focused on the purple line route, so I would be glad to share any information. I just don't have a lot of free time to check my personal email, so please connect with me via work.

Also, one other great thing about belonging to Town Announce is that the agendas for work session and council meetings are available to help you decide if there is a topic you would like to attend to hear more about or voice an opinion on.  I find this very helpful because I can rarely attend the meetings due to work conflicts, but can email my ward 2 rep, Kate Sharpe, and ask her more details or share my thoughts.  One other great way to participate in the town and decision making is to join a town committee.

Take care,
Dannielle
