[RP TownTalk] Questions about code for construction

Hi Melissa,

You can find a copy of the town code at:
http://www.riverdaleparkmd.info/codeenforcement/code_charter.cfm

If you think someone is violating the town code outside of regular
working hours, call the police department's non-emergency number right
away at 301-927-4343 and tell them what is going on.

During normal business hours, call the code enforcement division at
240 - 898-2500. You can learn more about code enforcement on the
Town's website at:
http://www.riverdaleparkmd.info/codeenforcement/index.cfm

Chapter 57 of the town code deals with sidewalks and streets and how
construction projects interface with them, but it doesn't address the
issues you raise below.

It's my understanding that any construction project like the one you
are describing probably requires a county permit, and I don't know the
county guidelines (though you can read up on it here:
http://www.princegeorgescountymd.gov/Government/AgencyIndex/DER/PRG/index.asp?nivel=foldmenu(9)).
If there is no work permit, the police will issue a stop work order.

I hope that helps, and that it's not too late. I heard the
construction noise going on over by your house yesterday but didn't
think to go investigate.... :-(
