*ONE-HOUR ORGANIC GARDENING WORKSHOPS
  this Spring in Mt. Rainier, MD

The most rewarding and least expensive way to eat organically,  
locally grown food is to grow your own. Feed your family and your soul.
Support your budget and the planet.

All workshops held Saturday mornings from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.
at the Walsh-Mellett home and garden
4012 32nd St. Mt. Rainier, MD  20712

Feb. 28th:  Garden Planning: choosing a location, deciding what to plant
March 14th : Growing Good Soil: composting, fertilizing, cover crops
March 21st: What to Plant When: starting seedlings indoors and direct  
seeding
April 4th:  Double Digging Raised Beds: joys of the spade and the  
broad fork
April 18th: The Growing Season: tips on transplanting, tending,  
watering, harvesting


COST:  $20 per workshop (Discount: $85 for all five)
Will accept Anacostia Hours or other barter for payment

Each workshop limited to 10 participants.

About the presenter: Judy began gardening with her Dad and sisters in  
a large home garden in Upstate New York.  She has gardened in rural  
Kentucky and Urban DC and has tended her Mt. Rainier garden for over  
20 years.  Judy received her “Master Gardener” certification through  
the DC Cooperative Extension Service in 1994, trained as a volunteer  
at the US National Arboretum in 1997, and attended Ecology Actions  
“Sustainable Mini-Farming Course” in 2000.
