With a great half-day program and intimate class size, College Park Nursery
School and Kindergarten (CPNS&K) has the Kindergarten you have been looking

CPNS&K’s Kindergarten provides a wonderful transition between preschool and
the rigorous environment of the higher grades of elementary school, whether
public or private. Frequent outings and field trips are part of the program,
and parent participation is welcome – something you won’t necessarily find
at many schools. Perhaps best of all, CPNS&K’s Kindergarten encourages
children to embrace their curiosity and creativity, allowing them to learn
the “3 Rs” while having fun and being active.

Our Kindergarten is taught by veteran teacher Joan Sicher, who has also been
the director of the school since 1985. Not only does “Miss Joan” have many
years of experience, but she is also a personable teacher who pays attention
to the individual needs of each child. With a maximum of 12 children in the
class, your child will benefit from a close teacher-student relationship.
The curriculum includes: art, cooking, health, language arts, literacy,
math, music, phys ed, science, social development, and social studies.

The half-day Kindergarten class takes place five days a week, from 11:30
a.m. to 3:00 p.m., including a lunch period and outside play. CPNS&K’s
Kindergarten is certified by the Maryland Department of Education, just like
a public school. Scholarships are available.
