[RP TownTalk] public works issues

Clear DayHello,
Normally I never complain, but I have a question. For over a week I have been calling the town offices to tell them that a branch of one of their dying trees has fallen on a power line on my street (44th Place), bringing it almost to the ground. After the first call (to where I was actually switched to public works), they informed me that they would call Pepco, and it would be taken care of. I have now called at least 4 more times, never again to speak to public works although I have been assured that they called Pepco several times and everything will be taken care of "by tomorrow". Guess what, still nothing OVER a week later. I really hope no one electrocutes themselves on my street. They told me in public works that I didn't need to call Pepco myself that it would be "taken care of"
Since its not my tree (its a town tree) nor directly affecting my house, should I just take it upon myself and call Pepco? What would everyone else do?
And yes, I was also informed that the town couldn't remove dying trees until they were actually all the way dead. The same tree dropped a branch on my brother-in-laws car about a year ago, denting the roof and hood. There are several dying trees on my street alone.
Sorry about my long rantings, but its somewhat frustrating.
