[RP TownTalk] Fiscal Year 2011 Finance Committee Meetings

I have interest in things other than the general government expenditures, when is that part of the budget going to be discussed, and when will the entire proposed budget be published so those of us who do not find it so complicated can review it.

Friends and Neighbors,

The first Finance Committee Meeting to discuss the fiscal year 2011 budget will be this Wednesday, May 12, starting at 7:30 PM, at Town Hall (5008 Queensbury Road).

Because the budget is a long and complicated document, I hope to limit discussion at this meeting to General Government (Town Hall) expenditures.  I may take a little time at the beginning of the meeting, perhaps with input from the Mayor, to give an overview of the budget, and some budgetary realities facing us this year.  If we have energy and time at the end of the evening, we might also discuss some of the "Miscellaneous" expenditures. 

Tentatively the meetings scheduled for the 17th and 19th of May (both starting at 7:30 pm) will be, respectively, the Police Department and Public Works budgets.  If we are moving fast enough in either of those meetings, we will discuss revenues.  Otherwise we will schedule a meeting for some evening beyond May 19th to discuss revenue.

As with all meetings of the Town Council and committees, members of the public are encouraged to attend and participate.
