Friends, Neighbors and Colleagues,

This is an update of summer plans for the Bladensburg Archaeology Project. Monday, May 17th marks the beginning of our summer field season with two weeks at the George Washington House in Bladensburg.

Julie Schablitsky of the State Highway Administration, Cultural Resources Section will lead a team of SHA and University of Maryland archaeologists. We will be trenching the parking lot of the house to look for architectural features and artifact deposits. Our ground penetrating radar survey of two years back suggested there might be something intact. We will see! We will be updating the project blog regularly with reports from the field.

We have added a few features to the site. We added a link to our Flickr site where we will upload project related photos. We have also added a function allowing you to follow the blog with updates with a gmail account. Additionally we added a new links section which we will update with the latest media from the project.

The blog address is as follows: http://bladenarch.blogspot.com/

Please share it with colleagues, friends, neighbors and community list serves!

Thanks for your interest and support!
