Thank God for the Riverdale police today .
    This morning about 1045 am I had just left the Professional shop ,Where
they pile on the hash browns have the fresh eggs .
    I was at the Jefferson st and Route where there  contractors had been
working in the street intersection the night before  .  Next to one of the
steel plates there was a large hole .The street was alos crumbling around
the hole . Remember this is in the middle of Rout one  I dont have a cell
phone ,I waited some one rode by on a bike .I asked if they had a cell
phone,They did we called Hyattsville police ,I didn't think police would
fell hole but could assist to block traffic int'l hole was filled ,Waited
around and nothing , Then a Riverdale police car was driving down Route one
,I flagged the office down , The Riverdale police pulled over ,I showed the
office the hole and how dangerous,The office pulled around blocked
traffic then directed traffic . Officer offered no debate were Riverdale
police this is Hyattsvile or state road  issue he stepped up to the plate
did the right thing .Later office approached me said was on his way to court
.Then another officer again from Riverdale approached with flashing lights
and stayed ,
    As I went to Franklins for lunch (SEE I DO LEAVE THE PROFESSIONAL)  The
hole was filled .
    If any can send to Riverdale town hall please do so . I dont know
officers names would like to see this in there file . Was so nice not have
debate on whos job ,         Douglas S Dudrow  Hyattsville council ward one
