[RP TownTalk] if you support mixed use development of Cafritz property...

why would they risk the good will of the community in trying to push through something like that?

Unless we demand that something like that doesn't happen, it probably will happen. Whole foods is a big company.

If they do business in any way like they did business in Silver Spring , they can run rough shod over  the "citizens" of Riverdale park.
I think we need to make it clear that they can't put our farm market out of business or make it move to some obscure part of town.

But what if the right of way to the property is changed and Rhode Island ave is re opened?
We lose half of the parking lot?
Just another concern I have.

When the Wegman's opened last year, I was afraid that it would hurt the farmer's market in Cheverly but I haven't noticed a drop-off in sales there.  I agree with Sarah, the people who prefer to shop at farmers markets are not necessarily the ones who are going to flock to Whole Foods.  If it's true that Whole Foods has a symbiotic relationship with the Fresh Farms Market group, can't we have a say in what new farmers markets are allowed to start up in our town?  There are already a lot of farmers markets in the area, it would be kind of silly to bring in yet another one.  As for substituting a Fresh Farms Market for our own independent market, why would they risk the good will of the community in trying to push through something like that?  <polishing my pitchfork>

All -
Whole Foods will bring in there own farmers market - that is what the company  does.
Please read my previously posted messages regarding this and check the links.

They view independent markets as compitition. Whole Foods does not want independent markets near their stores.
They demand independent farm markets and
they bring in FARM FRESH MARKETS.
Farm Fresh Market is a trade name.
