[RP TownTalk] Organic gardening workshop this spring

If anyone is interested in organic gardening, a great workshop series is being 
held by a neighbor of ours in Mt. Ranier.  I tried to attach the flyer, but 
couldn't, so the information is here below.  Judy is so knowledgable and 
friendly- it's a great class!- Kathy

 
ORGANIC GARDENING WORKSHOP SERIES  this Spring in Mt. Rainier, MD
 All workshops held Saturday mornings from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the 
Walsh-Mellett home and garden:  4012 32nd St. Mt. Rainier, MD  20712
 
March 5th :  Garden Planning: choosing a location, deciding what to plant
March 19th: Growing Good Soil: composting, fertilizing, cover crops 
April 2nd: What to Plant When: starting seedlings indoors and direct seeding
April 16th:  Double Digging Raised Beds: joys of the spade and the broad fork
April 30th: The Growing Season: tips on transplanting, tending, watering, 
harvesting
 
COST:  $125 for the five series session. Workshop Series limited to 10 
participants.
Pre-register by Feb. 26th.

About the presenter: Judy began gardening with her Dad and sisters in a large 
home garden in Upstate New York.  She has gardened in rural Kentucky and Urban 
DC and has tended her Mt. Rainier garden for over 20 years.  Judy received her 
“Master Gardener” certification through the DC Cooperative Extension Service in 
1994, trained as a volunteer at the US National Arboretum in 1997, and attended 
Ecology Actions “Sustainable Mini-Farming Course” in 2000
