I'd like to be a voice of approval and welcome for development and of a grocery store on the Cafritz property. I do also share your concern for increased traffic and for many of the things that many of you lament about Riverdale Park. The biggest thing that is dragging Riverdale Park down (in my opinion) is its lack of walkable amenities. Yes, the EYA development will bring a MOM's grocery and a few other needed amenities, however one grocery does not solve the problem. We will need choices. Development done correctly can increase property value and quality of life for all within the community. We, as a community, need to be supportive but proactive with developers to make them WANT to work within Riverdale Park to help us all get what we want throughout the process. I know some that have voiced criticism of the Cafritz development are also the same that cry afowl that the Town Center sits vacant. You can't have your cake and eat it too. There is a middle ground. The property will be developed. With positive, helpful and encouraging crits, we can really turn Riverdale Park into an A+ community.
