Our annual Earth Day event is right around the corner (next Saturday, April 9th)!
 It should be a great event, so head on over to our website and sign up to volunteer.
 We need as many hands as we can get!

We also have an exciting lecture planned for this Saturday, April 2nd. Alison Gillespie
is returning to AWS to share some spring gardening tips.  This time she's going 
to focus on urban nature gardening with kids.  Check below for more information

AWS Lecture: Urban Nature Gardening with Kids

Alison Gillespie is a local writer, gardener and parent.  She will be sharing practical
ways to turn even a tiny space into an arena for children to experience the wonder
of nature.

and counting acorns in the woods with your kids.  Now, in present day reality, you
find yourself living on a city lot the size of a postage stamp and worry that your
child with grow up with "nature deficit disorder."   Local gardener, writer and 
parent Alison Gillespie will share ideas for meeting these challenges, as well as
a practical list of ideas and plants that can turn even a tiny space into an arena
for experiencing the wonder of nature.  Inexperienced gardeners are welcome and 
encouraged to attend!
