Riversdale House Museum is hosting our 17th Annual Battle of Bladensburg Encampment tomorrow from noon-4pm! We've got some brand new activities this year to commemorate the War of 1812 Bicentennial! This event is entirely FREE, including house tours (thanks to Maryland Milestones)! We've got kid's activities at the ready and Lisa and Robert Papp, author and illustrator of the children's book, The Town That Fooled the British, here for storytime, too! Enjoy gunnery drills, artillery demos, horsemanship displays, open hearth cooking, and period food and music throughout the afternoon! We are happy to be serving the University of Maryland Dairy special edition, Star-Spangled Explosion ice cream.
