Increasing the taxes against the citizens of Riverdale Park seems like an issue that should be voted on in a referendum, not dictated to the citizens by the town government.

There was an article published in the Washington Post yesterday (January 8, 2012) (see below link)

The Washington Post quoted Mayor Archer stating
"He said that the developer might put up some of the money and that Riverdale Park and the county might provide the rest through a tax-increment fund that would tap revenue generated by the development."
I guess our taxes will be going up to support this development.
