[RP TownTalk] Agenda for March 5, 2012, Meeting of the Mayor and Council

Melissa,

By attending meetings occasionally or regularly (or at all, really) one can
see that there is often passionate discussion by council members on various
topics and that most things get fully considered and hashed out. Items on
the agenda that don't get lengthy attention don't because they don't need
to -- like the the carnival operator's request to hold an event on the
Alamo lot made last Monday. A few questions were asked but since he was a
repeated visitor, all knew the drill. He likely will win "approval" on
tomorrow evening.

In all, "citizens" as you like to call us (just so cold and
Soviet-like/Orwellian to me) are always provided a window to comment,
contribute to the discussion. And all of the current members of the council
genuinely welcome input from residents.

But, if you are still so unhappy about the process you can participate and
contribute to the public discussion in Town Hall. The other option for you
is that you really are not wed to Riverdale Park since you own no property
here. As a renter, you can easily give your 30-day notice and call Waldorf,
or Brentwood, or Rancho Cucamonga home by May Day. You have more options
than most folks anywhere. Now that's democracy!
