A late reminder, but this is a terrific opportunity for the right teen

Subject: Public Allies -- a great oppty for young community leaders --
deadline approaching!

Greetings from Public Allies DC,

I am sending this to a small circle of leaders with reach into the
communities of PG County. I have talked or connected with you in recent
months about Public Allies DC, a ten-month AmeriCorps program for emerging
leaders. As we close out our recruitment season, I would love your help with
one more push to identify talented potential applicants who hail from PG
County. We have extended the deadline for applications to our 2012-2013
program to May 11, this Friday. However, if you know of strong candidates
who are passionate about making a difference, please have them reach out to
me ASAP and we may be able make an extension until Monday. It is a paid
program, targeting (but not limited to) ages 18 - 30, that advances the
presence of diverse, talented folks among civic leadership.

I appreciate your support! Feel free to call me if you have questions, and
to share the following info widely:

---------

Public Allies advances diverse new leaders to strengthen nonprofits,
communities and civic participation through a 10-month apprenticeship and a
lifelong network of support. We pair Allies with community organizations who
seek to expand their capacity while building a local leadership pipeline.

We are currently recruiting Allies for the September 2012 - June 2013
Program!

 Allies (program participants)

. Serve four days per week in a community organization

. Participate in leadership development and continuous learning one day
per week

. Create, improve and expand services that address community health,
economic opportunity and education

. Earn a monthly stipend of $1,600 (before taxes)

. Receive health care, child care, student loan deferment, and a
post-service education award of $5,550

Applicants must be at least 17 years old, and have a High School Diploma or
GED. We target young adults, ages 18-30.

1) Our DEADLINE is May 11, 2012 -- PLEASE CONTACT US IMMEDIATELY AT
202-729-8016 or malkial at publicallies.org if you are interested.

2) Go to apply.publicallies.org, fill out the application online, upload a
resume and have at least TWO recommendations completed, in order to be
considered.

Thank you,
Malkia
