[RP TownTalk] Route 1 + Queensbury

Since the light at Queens Chapel and Queensbury was changed we are getting short-timed going West on Queensbury. One day recently I saw only 2 cars get thru on the green (plus one on the red). Meanwhile, cars are lined up sometimes for more than 3 blocks. How come we get the short end of the stick there?

Hey Andrew et al, Those of us who live on Queensbury between Rt. 1 and Queens Chapel don't mind our neighbors using that cut through. For the rest of the world though, including large trucks, even tractor-trailors sometimes, we really hate them preventing us from getting into or out of our driveways, let alone just driving on our street. Since the development around the Metro, it has been worse, with regular daily backups of solid traffic of three blocks or more.
We also share the pain of the Route 1 and Queensbury intersection. Traffic consultants hired by Hyattsville presented some suggestions for fixes for both problems, but many of us thought they were absurd and worse than the problems. We all hope someone can come up with viable
and positive solutions.

Every day. Last Friday it took me 13 minutes, from Queensbury at the light between Exxon and the dentist, to turn north on Rt 1 and then west on 410.
The Friday before, I had decided to skip it and just take Queensbury to Queen's Chapel. 18 minutes.
