> Upper Marlboro, MD - The Prince George's County Office of Emergency Management opened shelters at the following locations:
> Charles H. Flowers High School, 10001 Ardwick Ardmore Road, Springdale, MD

> University of Maryland, Ritchie Coliseum, 7950 Baltimore Avenue, College Park, MD (Generator onsite for those with emergency medical devices that need power and pet friendly)
> The County will open additional shelters throughout the County based on the level of damage from the storm. The public will be notified as additional shelters open. Residents are advised to check the County website for shelter updates or call the 3-1-1 Call Center. The shelters will be managed by the Prince George's County Office of Emergency Management, Department of Social Services, and the Department of Family Services, in cooperation with the American Red Cross. Additionally, the Prince George's County Health Department has staffed nurses at these shelters.

> Residents are encouraged to utilize Notify Me Prince George's to receive updates regarding the hurricane. Citizens can register by logging into Notify Me Prince George's or by texting 411912 to receive real-time notifications via registered mobile devices. Prince George's County will also keep citizens updated on Hurricane Sandy through usage of its Office of Emergency Management Facebook and Twitter. Residents should also monitor the weather through local media sources.
