[RP TownTalk] Neighborhood traffic frustration in general

Also, piggybacking on my earlier email.  I would like to send a friendly reminder to all of our neighbors....kids are back in school.  They are walking to and from school.  Please slow down!!!  Make complete stops at the stop signs!!  Keep your eyes open for the kids!
It is unbelievable how many people speed by Hyattsville Elementary (a lot of them are parents speeding into the parking lot to pick their kids up).  And the 4 way stop at Jefferson and 42nd is scary.

Don't our taxes pay for police enforcement for traffic conditions?  Either, town, county or state, someone is responsible for upholding the law.  Let's get the proper authorities down there and start passing out tickets or citations.  Surely that would help.  Maybe we can supply morning donuts and coffee at the Calvert House as an incentive?

Isn't the construction related to the new extra left turn lane from Rte 1 northbound to west East West Highway? Ideally that is supposed to alleviate this mess.

And thanks for letting people know the secret way past Dupont, Sarah. :P This morning there were about 10 cars waiting to make the left onto Rte 1, so I don't know how much longer it will be a viable option.

Jen, I'm sorry that folks were jerks this morning.  It is really frustrating to have to break laws just to get from point A to point B.
