Thanks so much for the heads-up.  It's a shame that ANYONE would let any dog run loose, isn't it?  Glad you and your dogs are ok, and I'll keep my eye out in case I see the dog (I think a couple of people in my apartment building have pitbulls, but they aren't what I'd call dark brown.  Too, I don't think they let them run).
 
If you hear any more or hear the dogs' been caught, please let us know.

I was walking my two dogs near Sheridan and Lafayette when we were attacked by a dark brown pit bull type dog. My dogs are okay but it took a helpful neighbor to lure it away. Who are you and thank you so much. She said the police were called. The dog last ran behind the green and brown house on Sheridan and 48th so be careful.
