Hello Everyone,

Three years after passage of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act
(ACA), many Americans are still unsure of how the law will impact them and
what it does. Below is a breakdown of key statistics about the ACA.

*Affordable Health Care By The Numbers*

· 8% - The percent of people who say that they have gotten information
about the health care law from State agencies [1]

· 15-28% - The possible increase in premiums for Maryland small businesses
[3]

· 25% - The possible increase in individual health insurance premiums for
Maryland residents [3]

· 4 out of 10 – The number of Americans that are unaware that the
Affordable Care Act is still the law of the land and is being implemented
[1]

· 48% - The percent of Americans that do not know whether or not their
state will setup health care exchanges for people who do not have health
insurance [2]

· 49% - The percent of Americans that say they do not have enough
information about the health reform law to understand how it will impact
their own family [1]

· 78% - The percent of Americans that do not know whether or not their
state will expand Medicaid [2]

· 150,000 – The number of Prince George’s County Residents without basic
health insurance [4]

· 720,000 – The number of Maryland residents without basic health insurance
[4]

To learn more about these and other topics, please attend my Health Care
Town Hall meeting on Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at 6:30 pm at Eleanor
Roosevelt High School – 7601 Hanover Parkway Greenbelt, MD 20770.
