Hi Folks, 

Here forwarded below, is a hearing notice of fundamental importance for the
community, especially for those interested in how the world of community
development and land use planning affects our local circumstances.

Here is an excerpt from the Implementation Chapter

"Consistency

Future planning documents that are prepared for Prince George's County 

should be consistent with the overall land use pattern set forth in Plan
2035. 

All new master plans, studies, and county programs should be reviewed in the

light of the policies and strategies of this General Plan. 

Civic Engagement

Implementing Plan 2035 and other plans is only viable if the public is
actively 

engaged and participates in the planning and execution process. The policies
in this 

General Plan must be supported through continued public engagement.
Residents, 

businesses, and other stakeholders must continue to be active participants
in any 

project early in the process in order to ensure buy-in and understanding of
the intent 

and purpose." 

The hows and shoulds of future development lie with all of us to determine
long before anything gets proposed, so please take a look and engage with
the County's most fundamental articulation of Community Planning.

And stay tuned because starting in early 2014 (dates TBD) Hyattsville and
environs can look forward to a community planning process to update the
outmoded 1997 Prince George's Plaza Transit District Development Plan.
