Thanks for the update; there's been a problem with the water pipes in front of my building since last Thursday, and water was coming up through the yard since Friday.  I saw that last night the whole one side of the apartment yard had been dug up.  (I also had notified the fire dept., as water pressure during the repairs was very low; could be critical in an emergency situation).
