*Meet The Artist, Hear Triple Treat Patio Concert***
*RIVERDALE PARK, MD. September 18, 2013* – The Riverdale Park Arts Council
has long looked for a home to hang artists works and offer them for sale to
the public. We are pleased to announce that artworks created by our members
can now be seen and purchased at the Town Center Market, 4705 Queensbury
Road in Riverdale Park. The showing is coupled with a reception Thursday
evening at 6:15 pm followed by a special, two-hour edition of the “Best of
Summer” Patio Concert Series at the market. Three University of Maryland
School of Music super groups from the summer will perform in this end of
season musical bonanza.
“I am a photographer, filmmaker and media artist, and a very happy recent
transplant to Riverdale Park. I am also honored to have been chosen by my
fellow RPAC members to be the first to have my work hang,” said *Pat Doyen*,
RPAC’s featured artist. “The photographs at the market highlight my travel
photography, and bring together my love of both landscape and architecture.
I am attracted to abstract patterns and details in everyday objects that we
often overlook.”
Doyen is influenced by her training as a film archivist, so she looks for
an alternative way of presenting a familiar image. “I love the old, the
unknown, the quirky and the unsung,” explains Doyen.
Meet Doyen* at the Art Council’s opening reception in Town Center Market.
She will give background and insight on more than a dozen of her framed
photographs. The public is cordially invited to attend and participate in
the discussion.
Guests will enjoy hors d’oeuvres and crudités graciously provided by Geppetto
Catering of Riverdale Park, while Town Center Market personality Telly
Kontostergios

Moscato, R by Raymond Cabernet Sauvignon, Seaglass Riesling, Graffigna
Malbec, Santa Rita 120 Sauvignon Blanc, and Mark West Chardonnay. There
will also be beer pours of Harpoon UFO, IPA, Octoberfest and pumpkin cider
from 5-8pm. (10% off during tasting hours.)
Live music begins at 7 with the *Chung-Ah Trio* -- clarinet, violin and
piano – classical works from Mozart to Bernstein. Also on the bill are
cellist/vocalist *Carol Anne Bosco*, who at August’s end showed grace and
humor with her musical and vocal presentation of Bach and The Band works
along with traditional Irish and American folk ballads. She is a rocker’s
cellist! If you have never heard a clarinet quartet you won't want to miss
this one! Clarinet professor and Riverdale Park resident *Robert
DiLutis*and his three top students from the University of Maryland

FM/Baton Rouge, LA Saturdays, 10am CST. It’s streamed at www.whyr.org.
