Hi Riverdale Park dog owners/lovers.  Check out the email below from Joanne
Kirsch about the Gateway Dog Club that she formed during the winter. The
6-week class was loads of fun. The club's first pro trainer, Ashley Valm,
was inspiring and it was great watching the dogs (and their owners) "get
it."  There is lots more in the works so, if it sounds like something that

The Gateway Dog Club just completed a six week obedience class led by a
professional trainer. Our next regular meeting will be Sunday, May 4 at
10:00 am at Joe's Movement Emporium. We will spend some time working with
our dogs using positive reinforcement techniques, and then talk about what
activities we would like to do next.

Some of the activities already in the works are a free workshop on dog
agility, and  another on natural remedies to have at hand in the home.

There is no membership fee and you can come as frequently or infrequently as
you like. We ask for a donation of $5-10 to cover the cost of renting the
room at Joe's. But if you can't afford it, please come anyway.

Don't worry if you have no experience with positive reinforcement
techniques, because those of us who do love to share what we know! We also
have professional trainers come periodically to give workshops on a
particular topic of interest or to teach a 6 week class.
